Swedish Massage
This is the most popular choice. Swedish massage is a gentle type of full-body massage that’s ideal for people who: are new to massage, have a lot of tension, and/or are sensitive to touch. It can help release muscle knots, and it’s also a good choice when you want to fully relax during a massage. I use a combination of: kneading, long, flowing strokes in the direction of the heart, deep circular motions, vibration and tapping, and passive joint movement techniques. Choose a Swedish massage for deep relaxation and/or managing minor pain.

Deep Tissue Massage
Deep tissue massage uses more pressure than a Swedish massage. It’s a good option if you have chronic muscle problems, such as soreness, injury, or imbalance. It can help relieve tight muscles, chronic muscle pain, and anxiety. I use slow strokes and deep finger pressure to relieve tension from the deepest layers of your muscles and connective tissues. I also use a tool called a Theragun for deeper relief of sore muscles. While deep tissue may be more intense, you shouldn’t feel any pain or soreness afterwards.

Sports Massage
Sports massage is a good option if you have a repetitive use injury to a muscle, such as what you may get from playing a sport. It’s also a good option if you are prone to injuries, because it can be used to help prevent sports injuries. You may also use sports massage to increase flexibility and performance. Additionally, sports massage can be used to relieve pain, anxiety, and muscle tension. A sports massage can be done as a full-body massage or I may focus on the parts of the body that need the most attention. I alternate deep pressure with soothing strokes depending on your needs. I might also use a massage tool called a Theragun for deeper relief.

Aromatherapy Massage
Aromatherapy massage is best for people who want to have an emotional healing component to their massage. This type of massage can help: elevate your mood, reduce stress and anxiety, reduce symptoms of depression, relieve muscle tension, and relieve pain. Aromatherapy massage combines soft, gentle pressure with the use of essential oils. I will usually decide which essential oils to use, but you can let me know if you have a preference. During the massage, you’ll be given a full-body massage while inhaling essential oils and absorbing them through your skin. Sometimes an aromatherapy massage will only focus on your back, shoulders, and head.

Chair Massage
A chair massage is best for people who want a quick massage that focuses on your neck, shoulders, and back. It is a good option for in-office massage for your work place. A chair massage can also be a way to introduce you to massage if you’ve never had one before. Chair massage also helps to relieve stress and promote relaxation. This type of massage uses light to medium pressure. During the massage, you’ll remain fully clothed and sit in a specially designed massage chair. You will straddle the chair so that your chest pushes into the back of the chair, allowing me to have access to your back.

![]() Reiki
Reiki improves your overall health while bringing peace and tranquility to your life. It is a form of alternative therapy commonly referred to as energy healing. It emerged in Japan in the late 1800's and is said to involve the transfer of universal energy form the practitioner's palms to their patient. Energy medicine aims to help the flow of energy and remove blocks in a similar way to acupuncture or acupressure. Improving the flow of energy around the body can enable relaxation, reduce pain, speed healing, and reduce other symptoms of illness. Benefits of Massage: Helps relieve muscle tension and pain Heat has long been used to ease muscle tension and pain. It helps increase blood flow to the affected area. It may also reduce muscle spasms and increase flexibility and range of motion. Cold therapy helps relieve inflammation. Depending on your symptoms, alternating hot and cold stones during your massage may be helpful. Reduces stress and anxiety It’s the position of the American Massage Therapy Association that “massage therapy can be effective for stress relief.” Research supports their opinion. A 2001 study showed that a ten-minute massage improved cardiovascular responses such as stroke volume. A 1997 study found that 15-minute, onsite chair massages in the workplace significantly reduced stress compared to a 15-minute break without massage. People who underwent abdominal colorectal surgery had less pain, tension, and anxiety after receiving post-operative massage. Promotes sleep A 2006 literature review found massage may be an alternative to sleeping pills in adults with insomnia. The research showed that back massage helped promote relaxation and sleep. Massage is thought to help you enjoy more restorative sleep. May boost immunity Massage may give your immune system a boost. According to a 2010 study, a single session of Swedish massage therapy had a positive and acute impact on immunity. Blood samples taken before and after the massage showed a decrease in arginine-vasopressin, a hormone that helps regulate blood pressure and water retention. |
